For 2007-2008 school year:

Liberty Bell Open- January 18-21 WIN

Amateur Team East- February Cancelled

PA States- March 8-9 WIN

Gr. Philadelphia open May 2 WIN

Also, we hope to run some of our own tournaments.  I am thinking 5min Blitz.

Tournament Results:

Gr. Philadelphia- 4 people

We won, I did not go but I will work on getting more info.  Jack, Kyle, and Stan did well.  Pisch- better luck next time.

PA States- Sent 7 people
We are the state champions.  We have the 1st open and 2nd U1500 individual prize winners along with the Team winning.  We beat the Pitt team by 3 pts. in a 5 round top 4 tournament.
Stan Hwang- 1st collegiate Open, Charles Gibson- 2nd Colligate U1500, Robert Pisch + Kyle Martin- 3 way tie top unrated U1500

LBO- We sent 8 people and had 2 show up on their own.
U1900-
Dan Finehart- 4-0-3 thought that the tournament was too easy.
Stan Hwang- 3-1-3 lost to a little boy and was given an undeserved victory by another little Asian boy.
Manan Pandya- 3-2-2 Solid Tournament.
U1500-
Dan Jordan- 5-2 after repeated draw offers decided to lose a game that could have gotten him $300
Alex Sedkov-3-2-2 I am still waiting to hear what happened in the final round.  Solid start followed by complete collapse.
U1300-
Charles Gibson 3-2-2 Not bad but lost to a high school girl
Jack Mc Carney-  3-2-2 Lost to a Blind guy- enough said
U1100-
Patrick Friend 2-5 not bad for a first tournament in a money section
U900-
Shaw Levin 6-0-1 all wins and a bye, Likes to beat up on little kids.
Kyle Martin 5-2 "I get headaches under blinking lights" Lost to a grandma.

Matches:

Drexel vs.  Haverford (away) April 27, 2008

Team 1
Stan Hwang 0 1 Sebastian Lara (1525) Very good game- Stan didn't have a clue what happened.
Jack Mc Carney 1 0
Chase Gibson 1 0
Kyle Martin 1 0
Robert Pisch 1 0 I am fairly certain this was completely undeserved.
  4     1
To be honest I can't remember much about this match other than that it was away and we some how won.  I think that there were two or three games that we should have lost that would have completely changed everything.  I promise to update... Sorry Haverford if I have the score wrong.

Team 2
Sebastian Lara 0 1 Daniel Jordon Close Game, Dan handed pity victory
Adolfo Cuesta 0.5 0.5 Jack Mc Carney Come back
Reilly Costigan-Humes 1 0 Jordan Shenk What Happened?
Ben Marsden 0.5 0.5 Chase Gibson Opposite colored bishops
2 2

The Haverford match was fun to do.  I think that although we lost it was a good experience for all
involved.  I also think that it might be a good idea to look into playing other schools. (If you are from
a Phily area school feel free to contact us.)  With so many schools so close it might be good to start
a league each team playing all the others twice, once in the fall and once in the spring. (One home the
other away.)
